Hot Wheels Taps Maluma, Supercar Blondie & Lewandowski for Global Legends

Global Toy News Insight
Hot Wheels is expanding beyond traditional automotive culture by turning its newest collector initiative into a broader lifestyle and entertainment platform. The inaugural “Class of Legends,” featuring Maluma, Supercar Blondie, and Robert Lewandowski, gives the brand three distinct entry points into music, digital culture, sports, and global fandom. By having each personality co-design a $25 collectible vehicle tied to their personal story, Hot Wheels is creating merchandise with built-in storytelling and fan appeal while giving adult collectors another reason to engage with the brand beyond conventional vehicle releases.

For the toy industry, the bigger takeaway is how Hot Wheels is surrounding the product with an entire content ecosystem. The Venice pop-up, limited-edition Hot Wheels Zine, social content series, charitable component, and direct-to-consumer pre-orders turn a relatively accessible die-cast collectible into a multi-channel brand event. It reflects a continuing opportunity for legacy toy brands to use celebrity partnerships not simply as endorsements, but as vehicles for experiential retail, social storytelling, collectibles, and cultural relevance—all while potentially introducing the brand to consumers who may not traditionally consider themselves toy collectors.

Meet the inaugural Hot Wheels Class of Legends!

Today, Hot Wheels unveils Challenge Accepted, a campaign built around the bold spirit of pushing boundaries, featuring three trailblazers who have transformed their ambition into achievement and passion into cultural impact.

Global music superstar Maluma, the largest automotive content creator in the world and entrepreneur Supercar Blondie, and soccer champion Robert Lewandowski are partnering with Hot Wheels to inspire the next generation of dreamers, creators, and challengers. As part of the 2026 Global Legends Collection, each has co-designed a collector die-cast vehicle that captures their personal journey, bringing stories of determination, resilience, and pursuit to life in Hot Wheels’ signature 1:64 scale.

The campaign kicks into action with an immersive pop-up experience in Venice, California, from August 28–30. Fans are able to step into the world of Challenge Accepted through larger-than-life vehicle displays, exclusive giveaways, and the debut of the brand’s first-ever print publication, the Hot Wheels Zine, available exclusively at the pop-up.

Through September, the story continues across social channels with a Legends content series, offering an inside look at each icon’s creative process, connection to car culture, and the pivotal moments that helped define their path to success.

To amplify the campaign’s message of possibility and perseverance, Hot Wheels is also donating $100,000 to El Arte de los Sueños, Maluma’s foundation dedicated to empowering vulnerable youth through arts and education.

The 2026 Global Legends Collection is available for pre-order now at MattelCreations.com for $25 each. Sharing the final press release and creative assets HERE for reference and use. Please let me know if you have any questions or would like any additional information!
