For the Month of May and in Conjunction With Mental Health Awareness Month, Zigazoo Is Partnering With Celebrities, Lawmakers, and Kid Creators to Address Social Media Wellness Head-On

Miami, FL – (May 1, 2025) — Zigazoo, the world’s largest social network for Gen Alpha and the pioneer in safe social media for kids, is proud to announce the launch of its 2nd Annual Social Media Wellness Month. Timed to coincide with National Mental Health Awareness Month in May, this initiative tackles one of Gen Alpha’s greatest mental health challenges head-on by empowering kids and families with the resources to use social media in healthy ways, highlighting best practices for tech companies, and pushing lawmakers to raise the bar for a safer internet for kids.
A recent Pew Research study found that while nearly half of teens attribute social media use to mental health challenges among their peers, 74% say these platforms help them feel more connected to friends, 63% value them as outlets for creativity, and 34% turn to them for mental health information. Zigazoo recognizes that social media is deeply woven into the social fabric of Gen Alpha, and the platform is built on the belief that young people need safe, wellness-focused spaces to support this critical aspect of their social development and to practice skills for healthy engagement. Social Media Wellness Month reflects Zigazoo’s commitment to leading the conversation on safety and well-being—providing families with the tools, skills, and knowledge they need to foster healthy relationships with social media.
Throughout Social Media Wellness Month, Zigazoo will feature a dynamic lineup of activities, including celebrity-led challenges, wellness content from its Gen Alpha Superstars, expert-led conversations, and curated toolkits designed to support families in fostering healthy online habits.
Serena Williams, tennis legend and investor in Zigazoo, says, “As a parent, I am worried about my kids one day getting on social media… Zigazoo was designed literally with kids’ well-being and safety at its core. I feel like Zigazoo is solving one of the world’s biggest problems by actually giving kids safe training wheels for their digital lives and really protecting the most precious among us.”
