Global Toy News Insight
Dr. Seuss Enterprises is expanding its educational entertainment portfolio with the launch of Dr. Seuss: Learn & Play, a subscription-based learning app developed in partnership with children’s app studio Be The Monster. Designed for children ages 2 to 8, the platform transforms 22 beloved Dr. Seuss books into more than 100 interactive games focused on early STEM, literacy, mathematics, spelling, and creative development. Featuring iconic characters including The Cat in the Hat, The Grinch, and The Lorax, the app offers an ad-free, offline-capable experience without behavioral tracking. Available worldwide on iPhone and iPad, subscriptions cost $7.99 monthly or $64.99 annually, with new games added each month. A partnership with literacy nonprofit First Book will also provide free one-year access to eligible Title I school students beginning in November 2026.

For the toy, licensing, and educational entertainment industries, the launch highlights the growing opportunity to extend established children’s intellectual properties into curriculum-driven digital experiences. By combining recognizable characters with milestone-based educational content, Dr. Seuss Enterprises is positioning its brand at the intersection of entertainment, early childhood development, and subscription-based learning. The emphasis on privacy, offline accessibility, and measurable educational value also reflects important considerations for families evaluating children’s digital products. As traditional toy and entertainment companies explore ways to build year-round engagement beyond physical products, Dr. Seuss: Learn & Play demonstrates how trusted literary properties can create recurring revenue opportunities while strengthening their relevance with a new generation of young consumers.

VICTORIA, British Columbia — Dr. Seuss Enterprises and children’s app developer Be The Monster are debuting Dr. Seuss: Learn & Play, a subscription learning app for children ages 2 to 8. Dr. Seuss Enterprises is also partnering with leading literacy non-profit First Book to offer the app for free to Title One schools and students across the United States.

The debut of the Dr. Seuss: Learn & Play app adapts 22 iconic Dr. Seuss books into more than 100 learning-focused games kids and parents will both love. The games include iconic characters every child knows and loves, including The Cat in the Hat, The Things, The Lorax, The Grinch, The Sneetches, Fox in Sox and many more. Every game is mapped to a named skill and to a developmental milestone, across science, technology, literacy, math, spelling and creative skills.

The app carries no advertising and contains no third-party advertising networks, so parents can ensure a new level of confidence in their child’s digital experience. The app is also kidSAFE COPPA+ certified and GDPR compliant, including the provisions on children, is verified by PRIVO.

Ellie Terveen, Chief Operating Officer of Dr. Seuss Enterprises, said, “One of our core missions is to serve new generations with unforgettable moments of joyful learning. This app allows us to give 2-8 year olds an entirely new way to experience the characters they know and love, on a platform that parents can trust.”

Faisal Sethi, Founder of Be the Monster, said, “The development of this app is truly a dream come true. The entire world loves Dr. Seuss, and we’re serving it up in a safe, inspirational and learning-focused digital environment that will benefit children across the continents.”

The curriculum design was led by Renée Jordan, an educator and learning specialist who holds a Master of Arts in Applied Educational Psychology from Columbia University. “We wrote the skill down first and built the game second,” Jordan said, “so every game in here can tell you which milestone it’s for and why it’s there. I’ve never had to tell a parent what their 3-year-old should be practicing. I’ve had a lot of them tell me they can’t find the evening to do it in, and that gets worse with every child you add.”

Dr. Seuss: Learn & Play is $7.99 per month, or $64.99 per year, including at renewal, a 32% saving against paying monthly. The first seven days are free, with $0.00 due at signup. One subscription covers up to four child profiles, and content plays offline after download. New games are added monthly, and the book library grows to 34 titles in all.

Through a partnership with First Book, the nonprofit children’s literacy organization, students at Title I schools will receive free one-year access at no cost to them or to their teachers. The program opens in November 2026.

Test Builds are available to members of the press on request.
