This month, Imagination Playground is celebrating 15 years of innovation, and reflecting on the continued growth and success of the company mission to bring enriching, imaginative play to children everywhere. Made in Providence, Rhode Island; Imagination Playground has made its way to all 50 states, plus Puerto Rico, and over 70 countries across the globe.
“Imagination Playground began with the idea that children could create their own play structures with loose blocks. That idea has grown into an international business which provides children around the world with an alternative to constant, mindless screentime. With our big blue blocks children build more than airplanes, trains and dinosaurs; they build teamwork skills, creativity, independence, motor skills and so much more,” said Imagination Playground CEO Jim Stallman.
Since its inception in 2009, Imagination Playground has remained committed to evolving and innovating as a company. When customer feedback showed that children enjoyed using the blocks to create structures like cars and boats, Imagination Playground developed the Transportation Set, which recently received an international playground design award. Imagination Playground developed the Loose Bone set so children could create dinosaurs, insects, aliens and more.
“We listen to children and learn from them. After 15 years in business, we continue to take note of what is exciting and engaging for children, and our products have evolved to reflect that,” added Stallman.
In celebration of 15 years in business, Imagination Playground is rolling back the clock and offering products at their original 2009 price. Imagination Playground will also be donating a block wall to the Providence Children’s Museum, just minutes away from the factory where the big blue blocks are made.
“Imagination Playground is a family business, and many of our founding employees are still with us after 15 years. I am proud to make our products in the USA, with a focus on environmental sustainability,” said Stallman. “Looking to the future, I can’t wait to spend the next 15 years advancing our mission and improving our products right here in Providence, Rhode Island.”
