The Toy Foundation™ (TTF) is delivering play this holiday season to children in under-resourced communities, schools, and hospitals nationwide with the distribution of more than 20,000 toys through its Toy Chest program. Thanks to the toy industry’s united support, year-round toy donations and financial contributions enable TTF to reach children when they need it the most.

“Each year, we see more children and families looking for assistance at the holidays, and we’re incredibly grateful for The Toy Foundation’s support,” said Drew Koven, co-managing director at LA Strong Foundation. “It means the world to be able to give every child a brand-new toy and to see their smile and amazement that they are lucky enough to take this toy home with them.”
Below is a recap of select holiday events The Toy Foundation supported in December.
- New York City Communities: 10,000 brand-new toys were distributed to children living below the poverty line at 40+ events serving under-resourced communities across the five boroughs. The events were hosted by TTF’s nonprofit partners, Brooklyn Youth Enrichment, Hope for New York, and Giving Friends, which collectively served 20,000 children in need.
- Los Angeles Communities: TTF distributed 3,500 toys to Los Angeles-based families in need, immigrant families, and families recovering from the January 2025 fires with the support of three local nonprofit partners, Be Social Productions, LA Strong, and Metro Kidz. Along with a new toy, families received food, essential supplies, and access to health screenings.
- Schools: 700 toy gift bags, each including four toys donated by TTF, were assembled in partnership with Target and handed out to every Pre-K through 8th grade student at two Title I Minneapolis schools, Lucy Laney Elementary and Ascension Catholic School. An additional 100 toys were specially gift-wrapped by Ravensburger employees and delivered to a Title I school in Seattle.
- Children’s Hospitals: TTF distributed 500 toys to NewYork-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital for a special event where children with sickle cell disease shopped for a toy for themselves, plus picked out toys to gift to their family members.
- Disaster Recovery: To continue TTF’s support in Kerr County and the surrounding communities devastated by the July 2025 Central Texas floods, 500 toys were distributed to two nonprofit organizations, Spirit of Liberty Foundation and Lone Star Santas, for their holiday toy drive that had more than 250 families in attendance.
Toy Chest has delivered the joy of play to more than 36 million children around the world since 2003. Companies and individuals can support TTF’s 2026 giving initiatives by coordinating a product donation or by shopping the Holiday Gift Catalog. Donations of every size are accepted and make a powerful difference.
