It’s been feeling a lot like Toy Fair recently. It’s been snowing (heavily), it’s cold, and Valentine’s Day is coming. Of course, there is no Toy Fair this year, but ironically I still had to
visit the Javits Center last week.
My reason for going was to receive my first coronavirus vaccine shot. You can imagine my sense of irony as the place I associate with toys, toy companies, and toy people was filled instead with doctors, nurses and the National Guard.
Never-the-less, I was extremely impressed by the number of front-line workers and soldiers, the degree of organization, the speed with which we passed through the process, and the humanity of those with whom we engaged.
It made me feel good about the country and about the future. So, if I can’t have Toy Fair, at least I have my vaccination.
