A Look Inside a 19th Century Toy Store

Breaktime-header 002
I chanced upon this wonderful book that depicts the toys to be found in a mid-19th century American toy shop. "The Wonders of a Toy Shop" was written by an anonymous author sometime in the 1850's and published by Philp J. Cozans on Nassau Street in New York City.

The pictures are charming as is the verse. Interesting that, even then, a low price was the first selling point to be made.  I have presented all six pages in order from top to bottom.
