I haven't felt this way since I figured out that the killer in all of those "Murder She Wrote" episodes was Jessica Fletcher. Of course she was the killer, she was present every time someone was murdered.

I always thought Mrs. White did it. From when I was a child playing my first game of Clue, my first guess always included was Mrs. White. I would confidently announce: "Mrs. White, in the Kitchen with Poison." Of course it was Mrs. White, she was the cook and therefore in a great place to put poison in someone's food. And she had motive, she was a poor working class woman surrounded by affluent posers like Mr. Green or Colonel Mustard.

Now, she is dead, killed off in order to introduce a new character. Is this news? Yes, it is. Here how Boston Magazine put it: "Board Game Clue Kills Off Mrs. White, Introduces Dr. Orchid." Yes, Dr. Orchid, a plant biologist with a doctorate will take the place of a lowly cook, the only working class character in the game.

I haven't felt this way since I  figured out that the killer in all of those "Murder She Wrote" episodes was Jessica Fletcher. Of course she was the killer, she was present every time someone was murdered. How could she not be the murderer?

So, farewell Mrs. White. You gave the Boddy family (the Black family in the UK) and those of us who loved to play the game your best. Now, new times demand a more upscale and educated murderer.

I still think she did it.
