We are currently hard at work putting together this year’s World Congress of Play.  One of the segments we are reaching out to this year is those who publish, write and illustrate comic books.  We want them to be present with the other play industries (Children’s media, traditional toys, theme parks, video games, digital play, playground and more) in order to create new relationships, companies, projects and products.

Robin-lego-marvel-super-heroes-21684-1920x1200We are reaching out because at this point in history, there is probably no more important inspiration for play themes and characters than comic books.  Think of all of the comic book characters and themes that populate the play industries:  Spiderman, Superman, Batman, the X-Men, the Fantastic Four, Thor and more. They show up as action figures and vehicles and in video games and apps.  If you want to have a birthday party you can certainly serve your guests on plates and let them wipe their cakey / ice creamy faces with napkins all bearing the image of their favorite characters.

So, Dark Horse Comics, Marvel, DC, Image, IDW, Todd McFarlane Productions, Fantagraphics, Drawn & Quarterly, Shonen Jump, Top Cow please join us as we bring together all the play platforms in one place in one time.  See you in San Francisco.
