After three at the Hong Kong Toys & Games Fair it has become difficult to miss the growing Russian presence as a consumer market for toys. Conversations with Chinese manufacturers indicate that Russia is a growing market for them.
The evidence of this can be found in some of the Chinese company exhibition booths which conspicuously merchandise displays and packaging baring Cyrillic language and Russian themes. One display showed rank upon rank of blonde dolls with Russian girl’s names (I don’t speak Cyrillic but asked).
American companies that do not make the trip over from Kowloon to the Hong Kong Convention Centre may be missing this important piece of information so attention should be paid to a growing Russian market for traditional toys.
